How to export a Confluence space
An HTML export gives you every page and attachment in a space as a zip file. It's a good backup, and it's the starting point for moving to any other wiki.
Confluence Cloud
You need to be a space admin. You'll get everything you can see; a site admin gets everything.
- Next to the space name in the sidebar, choose More actions (•••), then Space settings.
- In the General menu, choose Export space.
- Choose HTML, then Next.
- Pick everything, or only the pages you want, then choose Export space.
- Download the zip when it's ready.

Confluence Data Center and Server
You need the Export Space permission.
- In the space, open Space tools at the bottom of the sidebar, then Content Tools.
- Open the Export tab and choose HTML.
- Choose Normal Export for the whole space, or Custom Export to pick pages.
- Choose Export and download the zip when it's ready.

What's in the export
- Included: pages as HTML files and their attachments, each page's attachments in a folder named after the page's ID.
- Left out: blog posts, comments and unpublished changes. If you rely on blog posts, export them separately as PDF or Word.
Tips
- Export one space at a time. Large spaces can take a while.
- Keep the zip somewhere safe even after you move. It's a snapshot you can always go back to.
- Check the zip opens and that
index.htmlshows your page tree before deleting anything.
Moving to Tablewide
Send us the zip and we'll rebuild the space as a BookStack wiki for free: page tree, attachments, images and internal links. You check the result before anyone switches.
